So Oppo, which vehicle from the front page auction would you buy?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
For me, I think I’d go with this
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
The body looks to be in good shape. Depending on the frame and everything else I don’t know if I’d throw the body on a newer 3500 frame or try and restore the whole thing.

There are quite a few that I’d love to have but I’d probably go with the ‘63 Galaxie 500XL convertible. My family had a similar one , though I don’t think it was an XL, when I was very young and it would be fun to cruise around with my dad in that. Honorable mention goes to the ‘57 Fairlane for similar reasons but the one my parents had wasn’t a convertible let alone a retractable hardtop.

Nice...nostalgia is hard to beat.
For me I’d love to find a square body S uburban

None. If there had been a pre-war Packard or a Duesey tucked away, maybe. Mid-century cars are losing their appeal to me.

It doesn’t hurt that I have a thing for large early-to-mid 60s convertibles of all stripes. They seem like they would be just the thing for cruising around in .

Either of the F3's. Not like I really need a 3rd or a 4th, but why not.

I like the ‘62 Tbird, but there are a lot of cool vehicles in there I would happily own.

Fair enough.

That’s definitely one of the better looking ones condition wise too.

When you know what you like stick with it.

This caught me eye.

That was my next in line one. I have an odd desire for a 40s-50s heavy duty/commercial truck. Whether that’s a firetruck, flatbed, dump truck, semi, or panel truck doesn’t matter too much to me.

I’m not really into American cars, but I would probably take a Buick Ri viera or something similar.

Well if I didn’t answer with this ‘59 El Camino, I’d have to change my Kinja callsign. :) It appears to be in very restorable shape, and they are pretty hard to find. I’m just curious if it has the 283 or the 348.

I’d really love to get my hands on this ‘57 Cameo pickup as well. I love these things, and this one is beautiful.

If someone told me to go out into that auction yard and pick one car, and I could have it for free...I would have an awfully hard time choosing, to be honest. There is a lot of really cool old steel there.

I’m pretty sure this is the answer.

I went for that one on the theory of not being sunk into the ground means it was mobile a lot more recently and maybe more complete.

Seems to me this guy had a sort of a “system” going. His favourites (arguably some of the most interesting of the bunch, too) got preserved, the ones he liked but maybe wasn’t super hot for were simply stored indoors, and he had a ton of parts cars and projects he never got to rotting in the yard.

50's American cars aren’t exactly my jam, but damn if this Buick doesn’t have a beautiful front:
also this thing is rad and I’d absoltely DD it.

I didn’t even notice the el Camino

Some of those pre-war cars just have a great presence

I can narrow it down to three.
The 59 Cadillac convertible that actually runs, the 61 Imperial, or the Model T gas truck.
If the 57 Desoto were a 2-door or convertible it would’ve been my top choice.

Can’t get the gas truck to load, but it’s behind the Caddy in the picture.

That gas truck is pretty cool, definitely up there for me

It’s definitely not like that guy in Michigan. A majority of these look to be in good shape

Kinda the first thing I look for.

There’s something fun about those massive 2 door coupes from the past.
